I love me some Flip food! Yes, Filipino food - that is! ;D This place brought back some wonderful memories of home without having to break a nail in the kitchen. ;P You know what I'm talking about!... the ol' days when you were young and your parents would cook for you as you helped a lil' bit in the kitchen, but they did the bulk of the cooking. There's nothing like home cooking, right, especially if it's authentic Filipino?! Well, this place might surprise you. LOCATION & PARKING 4/5 The restaurant is off the beaten path, away from the beach, but close enough to drive to if you're vacationing off Okaloosa Island, Fort Walton or Destin. Our GPS led us here without any hiccups. Parking is available right out front and can be tight if you arrive around peak hunger hours. AMBIANCE & SERVICE 5/5 It's not fine dining, but the place is reminiscent of an establishment that invests their time & effort in food preparation and cleanliness - and in the end of my book, that's what brings customers back repeatedly. Upon entry, expect a greeting and smile from the ladies here. If you look Flip, they'll speak to you in Tagalog (or close dialect). Haha. And if you respond in English, they'll still speak to you in Tagalog 8D and question where you're from. It's the norm from my experience. Although my Tagalog is limited as I was born here (don't hate), thankfully, I can still understand, read, and speak w some limitations. The ladies here are super friendly and very accommodating not just to us, but to every single person that walks thru their doors. At times, it got busy, but they won't mind or frown if you helped yourself to the drink machine for the free refills as hubs did. Now to the best part... FOOD 5/5 Boy, I saved my appetite for this place! And what do you know.,,, it's a Filipino buffet @ $10.29/pp! What Flip doesn't like buffets?! While my dad is the king of buffets, I certainly am not. However, this is one place to consider passing up free hotel breakfast to get your fill here during lunchtime. That's exactly what we did! Twice! During our April 2015 R&R off Okaloosa Island, this was the place to visit!! The buffet included but was not limited to the following: Lumpia (pork or veg) w dipping sauce Fried rice Pansit Ribs Caldereta Coconut w pork (not shrimp) Chicken adobo Pork adobo Leche flan Cabbage and cauliflower There were other dishes but these listed were what we went back consistently for. I imagine the dishes served may change from day to day or week to week as any buffet would. Nevertheless, it was all good. Whether it be seconds, thirds, or even fourths, the juicy ribs and Lumpia found their place on my plate, and eventually their home in my tummy. They even had our fav sodas (Mt Dew for me, Dr Pepper for hubs) available. The Lumpias were made similarly to how I make them - Shanghai style - small, thin, and long with all the right secret ingredients to make one come back for more. Delicious! THE CHOCOLATE MEAT 5/5 The two occasions we dined in here for lunch, they didn't have Diniguan (aka chocolate meat) in the buffet. How many of you know it's really not chocolate? Lol. Anywho, the menu on the wall listed Diniguan, so wonder led to inquiry. Sure enough, they serve it occasionally but it's always available for special order. Being that it's my favorite Filipino dish and I haven't made it in probably half a decade (except when I'm back visiting family in northern California), I took a chance and placed a special order without even tasting it. RISK-TAKER! ;D Order was to be ready for pick up on our last day of vacay. Man, I tell you - I should have ordered more! I placed two orders for Diniguan which only cost $12.99 each. We arrived early that Sunday afternoon for our to go order, so we waited patiently. Each were packaged piping hot in 24oz plastic soup containers and sealed w guaranteed deliciousness! 8P The drive home was torture, I tell you. If only I had a side of rice, these babies would not have made it home untouched! Lol. Anywho, we were too tired after the long drive home, so one container went into the freezer, while the other into the frig for the next day. Part of me wondered if what I ordered was going to be mostly liquid, or no meat content, and just a plain big disappointment. Our experience was quite the opposite! The Diniguan was made perfectly w a good kick of hot pepper. Generous portions of pork meat were in each spoonful. We could taste the flavorful ingredients, spices and vinegar that gave this dish and review it's 5 sparkling stars. Lanie's could do well w just dish alone! Hopefully the price won't go up before we return for a larger order. ;D VERDICT 5/5 Let's just say, for each trip we make to the gulf coast, this is the place you just may find us at during lunchtime. We highly recommend this place, especially if you want some homemade authentic Filipino dishes or something different from what's served in the surrounding beach cities. Go there now & enjoy!

What can I say? This is about as close to my mom's cooking as I am going to get and it's pretty damn tasty. I go nearly every Saturday and it's always consistent and never disappoints. It's a about $10 for the buffet, all you can eat with a drink. Not bad considering what you get, and what you can get is A LOT OF FOOD. I am a little embarrassed to say that I don't know the names of all the dishes that are on the buffet line, but they do have several of the filipino staples that many have come to love and enjoy like pancit, lumpia, and chicken and pork adobo. I can't really add much to what everyone else has said about the restaurant other than I think it's better than that other filipino restaurant in Fort Walton Beach. Also, my mom and dad recently visited FWB from out of state and I told my mom about this place. She is very particular with her filipino food and was reluctant at first to try and eat anything but her own food. Well, she went to Lanie's Kitchen and was pleasantly surprised. She went not once, but twice within a week! She loved it and said when she comes back in to town, she will definitely go there again.

So after a long morning of studying in the Fort Walton Beach library, I came to the realization that one of the few restaurants I have been wanting to try was right next door. Sure, I'm by myself and I really don't care. So decided to walk on over to Lanie's. It's a cool little place, nothing fancy. A nice older woman and younger woman were working the floor and greeted me and showed me to a booth. I went to the buffet and put some food on a plate. I honestly didn't know what to expect since this is my first experience with Filipino food. All I can is hot dang! This is amazing food that you can clearly tell is homemade. The seasonings were perfect. Anything I tried was delectable and left me wanting more except that I was stuffed and couldn't eat more unless I wanted to go back and sleep in the library instead of study my life away. Needless to say I had no shame in retuning the next day and the young woman even exclaiming "you're back!" Should you be so surprised? Your food is amazing and the only negative feelings I have towards you are that y'all are currently only open til 3. I simply just told her I live in the library which I hope she didn't take literally but I may have been able to pass seriously by my vagrant appearance. Honestly, give this place a go. And heck take me with you if you do, please :) I mean I am living in the library anyways...

Local Filipino food place that replaced Sue's Desserts just this year. The main lady that took care our table was incredibly sweet & helpful. We came at 1pm on a Friday and the buffet selection was getting sparse, that's the main reason for a 4 star review. I've eaten at Nellie's Lumpia house in Crestview, FL over 30x and now FWB has a nice Filipino buffet place that is authentic!! The ribs were seasoned just right and nearly fell off the bone, the Lumpia were fresh & bursting with flavor, and the wait staff was attentive to the various tables. My big surprise was the distinctly Filipino dessert known as halo-halo (pronounced like hah-low rather than hay-low; it means "mix" in Tagalog). It is NOT. Included with the buffet but can be added for $3.99. Halo-halo is traditionally served in layers in a cup or bowl. First comes a hodgepodge of ingredients that can range from red beans and cocoa to fresh fruit, followed by a healthy scoop of shaved ice. This is all topped with evaporated milk, leche flan, ube(purple yam) ice cream, caramelized plantains, and strands of macapuno (coconut). I liken it to sticking Fruit Loops cereal with milk in a freezer for 90 minutes than adding a scoop of ice cream in it along with a little fruit salad and beans...... It is memorable and you MAY fall in love with it...... Nice place I will be back for their $8.99 lunch buffet again!!

So glad I visited here on a friend's recommendation. Excellent buffet with a good variety. They had a fruit and spinach salad on the buffet that was phenomenal, and also had several Filipino entrees that did not disappoint. All for $10, it doesn't get much better than this!

We in Western society tend to group all Asian food (people) into the same category. No assholes, we are not all the same (well minor differences). Filipino food (people) always seems to stand out more than the rest. Damn Spanish influences. Lanie's Kitchen has daily lunch/dinner buffets for around $10 and it's a great value. The selection is good. It's not a giant buffet but what they have is authentic (or I think it's authentic) Filipino dishes cooked with love. The quality of the food is of a higher caliber than your average Asian buffet. Filipino soap blasts from a TV against the wall. Free beverage with your buffet. Every time I come here am stuffed to the gills and leave smelling like your mama's kitchen. It's nothing glamorous so don't come here to impress a date but it does the job of filling you up with some good old fashioned Filipino home cookin'.

We went here for dinner yesterday (Tuesday evening) with a colleague. I was so excited since it was a filipino buffet and I am filipino! It was ($9.99 drink included). My husband's colleague really enjoyed the buffet but for us it was a little disappointing. I had read all of the Yelp reviews before I went and my expectations were high. First of all, they did have a variety of choices. My favorite was the sinigang which had tender pork and greens in it but was salty. Next, they did not have dinuguan, it was a special order. They had 2 different kinds of adobo, pork and chicken but were both diced pieces of meat so it became dry. The bbq ribs were reheated in the oven which were leftover or cooked at least a couple times over and were not fresh:( The pancit that they did have was the Vegetable Lo Mein kind and not the bihon. That was actually tasty and freshly cooked. The shanghai lumpia were and overcooked and almost burnt. Me and my husband ate what we could which was the white rice with sinigang. The dessert that they did have was a fruit salad, almost burnt leche flan, and 2 cakes. No cassava cake, puto or siopao to my dismay. There was also a nice salad bar with fruit offerings. The restaurant as a whole was nice and clean. The server was very attentive and kept our table clean of dirty dishes. All in all, the restaurant is average and may be really good when the food is fresh but not on this night. For the price, it was good to fill up on the buffet.

I have been meaning to try this place out for a while. Decided to check it out with a friend. There is parking right in front of the restaurant and it's conveniently located in the downtown area. I was surprised with the limited options because when I see a buffet, I think big. Lanie's surprised me with the few options! I was hopeful that the food would taste good. I had a small portion of everything they had out. There is rice, soup, a salad bar and desserts available besides the entrées. They had flan for dessert!! The entrées were several Filipino dishes, that I have had before but I don't remember the names. A few of the meat dishes were a bit too salty. Overall it was a pleasant meal for about 10 bucks. You can get your money's worth! I would want to come back for dinner to try things on their menu. The lunch buffet is a good option of you want to see how things taste.

Small buffet, but oh so yummy! Several meat selections available. Everything was seasoned deliciously, but nothing too spicy. Great value at just over $10. Can't wait to go back.

I am quite picky when it comes to filipino food. However, this place blew me away with how each dish tasted EXACTLY as it should! My only criticism would be towards the pancit. I prefer my own or my tita's versus here. Overall, I totally recommend this local hole in the wall!

Masarap masarap! Place was super good and friendly staff. They had lots of different items and all tastes fresh. They brought my friend and I out some lechon and it was cooked perfectly. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Pretty thankful that I get to have delicious Filipino good in my new home.

Lunch pit stop after a Doc appt. Greeted and welcomed with warm smiles. I could smell the yummy food from the parking lot! For $10.95 a person including fountain drinks(free refills), I'd say yes!!! There are booths, and table seating. I kept eating until I couldn't eat anymore. Atmosphere is laid back & quiet with one tv showing local news. Wish they had more dessert options though but that's the only thing. Will be returning for some good 'ole Filipino food!

Had a yummy lunch at this nearby Filipino buffet with my guy. They had lumpia, pancit bihon, adobo, giniling, afritadang manok, fried rice and more. All my favorite pinoy dishes. I was really impressed with the variety, freshness and flavor. The adobo was my favorite! The lumpia varied in taste. Some rolls were thicker than others. The thick ones tasted more like Chinese egg rolls (ehh) and the thin ones more like the lumpia I know and love. Staff was attentive and helpful. I'd go again for lunch.

This buffet has got to be one of the best tasting Filipino foods I've had (outside of the Philippines of course) Food tasted fresh and was seasoned well. The owner of the place was very courteous and made us feel right at home. I could have eaten until i exploded because the food was soooo good. The halo-halo bowl we had for desert was huge. My kids loved the lumpia and kept going to get some more. I particularly love the coconut milk dish they had.

Enjoyed the dinner buffet at Lanie's Kitchen for $9.99 (drink included). All of the meats were savory, with the unique Filipino flavorings. The pancit was delectable, and there was a constant supply of BBQ ribs. The buffet included several fruit and vegetable offerings, and there were also a decent number of desserts. During checkout I received a stamp card -- for every six buffet meals purchased, the seventh is free. I will definitely return.
